Studio 2nd Street is a studio dedicated to art and artists, with the space utilized for gallery shows, classes, workshops, and other events such as costumed model workshops. The studio is run by Vanessa and Ron Lemen, and is strongly fostered by the incredible community of artists who are friends, students, colleagues, and supporters of this inspiring, all-encompassing studio space.
Vanessa and Ron Lemen are very dedicated artists and instructors who have worked in several different arenas of art, from representational and fine art to illustration and entertainment art. Not only do they work as freelance artists and commissioned painters, both have a strong and extensive background in art instruction as well. They are currently teaching a number of drawing and painting classes, both traditional and digital, at Studio 2nd Street. They have developed a solid place in the community of Encinitas participating in a variety of local art events, as well as establishing a worldwide presence on the web with online instruction and tutorials. Through their experiences as guest instructors at events held throughout the country, they have been inspired to provide the experience of having guest instructors come to their studio to bring additional fresh ideas and concepts directly to students who are interested in intensive and informative workshops with other artists who are working in various fields of art, and are coming from different places around the world. Overall, their goal is to provide a solid foundation in the fundamentals of art that gives way to an open-minded notion of the wonderfully broad spectrum that the world of art has to offer.
